Terms of Agreement for the MOST Forums
Below are specific terms of agreement related to use of the:
These terms provide rules governing the use of those forums in conjunction with the MOST Website Terms of Use. We encourage forum participants to familiarize themselves with both policies.
Forum Disclaimer
Unless specifically expressed otherwise, all postings, links, subject lines, instant messages, online chats, email and private messages generated by participants of the MOST Family Support Forums are for entertainment, convenience, or general informational purposes only. Information posted or sent from this forum represents only the thoughts and opinions of the content's author and do not necessarily represent those of MOST (Mothers of Supertwins), its advisory board, or staff. Material presented here is generally believed to be from reliable sources, but MOST makes no representations as to its accuracy or completeness and advises forum participants not to make treatment decisions based on information posted to the forums or received in related communications without the guidance of a qualified health care provider.
Forum
Registration
When participants register for these forums, they can create a detailed
profile. As users register and choose a username, MOST advises they keep
their username appropriate. Inappropriate usernames may be rejected. With this user account, registered users agree
never to share their password with anyone. They also agree NEVER to use
another member's account to post messages or browse this forums. Users
are responsible for presenting clean and accurate information. Any information
MOST deems inaccurate or vulgar will be removed.
Important Note: Only invited MOST and PreemieCare volunteers are eligible to participate on the MOST Volunteer Forum. See our forum information page for specifics on qualifications for each of the MOST Family Support Forums.
Inappropriate
Postings
While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.
To keep the MOST forums appropriate for all participants, users are prohibited from posting:
- Any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate,
abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented,
threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation
of ANY law
- Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations
- Any material protected by copyright unless the forum participant owns the
copyright or has consent from the owner of the copyright
- Content made by another MOST Forum participant in any other forum, MOST or otherwise, email transmission, website or blog, or print publication without permission from both the person who posted the content and MOST
- Solicitations for media or research study participants**
Posts, like those described above are inconsiderate of other forum participants, and may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). Legal actions can be taken against violators. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.
**MOST will post notices about film, print, or other media opportunities on our Media Opportunities page for a small fee. To request that service, contact the MOST office by email or at (631) 859-1110. Research study requests should be submitted through our Research Study Contract (PDF).
MOST’s
Role Maintaining the Forum
Since MOST cannot always confirm the validity of posts on these forums,
MOST is not responsible for content not posted by MOST directly. MOST does not warrant the accuracy,
completeness or usefulness of any information presented by forum participants. The messages
express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of MOST. Any
participant who feels that a posting is objectionable is encouraged to
report the post using the forum reporting feature, or notify the forum moderator or MOST Forum Coordinator immediately. MOST
retains the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable
timeframe when removal is necessary. Removing a message is a manual process,
so please realize that MOST may not be able to remove or edit particular
messages immediately. This policy applies to user profile information
as well.
Abusive
Participants
Forum participants remain solely responsible for the content of their
messages. They agree to indemnify and hold harmless the MOST forums, and any
related websites to these forums. MOST also reserves the right to reveal
a user’s identity (or any appropriate information MOST has about that user)
in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from information posted
on this forum. As mentioned above, IP addresses are recorded with each post
to facilitate banning abusive users or contacting Internet Service Providers
(ISP); however, these events only occur in the event of a serious or potentially criminal violation
of this agreement.
